The agreement didn’t reach after a 7-hour negotiation

After a 7-hour negotiation, the agreement between the labor and the capital didnrsquo;t reach at last, but it seemed that things went towards a good direction. At least when the vice-chairman Maurice Evans of NBPA left assembly room, he said: ldquo;Things go well really.rdquo; While David Stern said: ldquo;we havenrsquo;t reached an agreement, but it is better than before.rdquo;
This lockout has lasted for 3 months from 1st July. It is self-evident that things are so urgent because there is only 1 month left from the new season. NBA president promised ever before that there would be some development till this weekend. Although he had denied the rumour that the whole season would be cancelled if there was no improvement between the two sides, the president stressed the ponderance in his interview.
Stern said like that: ldquo;if the two sides canrsquo;t reach an agreement, it will become a reality to lose some regular season. We all donrsquo;t want to see the serious result that all players have no salary and the bosses throw their money away. So I will do my best to solve this problem.rdquo;
In his interview on Friday, Stern expressed he would improve the income sharing plan of each boss, but in the aspect of player, the salary cap and income distribution were still the most important question. Players were trying to learn the related details of sharing plan. But Stern said all these questions would have a result after the agreement reached. He also indicated players have learned all the things what the league knew while they ensured this affair would not affect the progress of the whole negotiation.
Therefore stiff salary cap as well as its replaced system is the biggest divergence at the moment. Players insist on their objection of stiff salary cap proposed by the bosses. As a result, the capital put forward a substituted system, such as adding the punishment to luxury tax. In addition, the problem that income distribution between the labor and the capital has not solved yet.
